Hi, I am Shelly, born and raised in Germany. I am loving arts and doing creative things since i was a child. When i grew up, painting and drawing animals was my way to cope with difficult circumstances, trouble around me and stressfull periods in life. Paper and pencil saved my soul; it was literally my personal therapy.

I still love to paint but since i moved to Algarve I changed to painting on sea shells rather than on paper. I love to go to the beach when the sun rises, and all the shells you will find here I brought back home from my morning walks. After a period of just painting them with acrylic colours I started using epoxy resin on them, involving little rhinstones, jewelery, stickers, tattoos, sand from the beach, beads and other stuff, mainly found or bought here in Algarve to support the portuguese brands, industry and other artists. As a shell is much too small to do „big“ on it, I went over to involve the shells in larger things, like trays, bowls and other kind of receptacles. All finished with epoxy.  

For some of my projects I do have visions before I start, but, to be honest, most of the times I start without having any concrete idea where I will end up. I love to work at nights; that’s when the best ideas and visions come up inside of me.   

As in former times when i fled myself into painting I am going through a very difficult period in life at this moment in time, and I am refilling my batteries by doing epoxy works. Some people say, my work is lyrical, and has got the touch of poetry. I appreciate these compliments, although I never did any work with the intention to sell though everybody keeps on telling me that I should. Looks like something in my works touches people‘s heart, and that is why I thought I should, at least, share my works with you.
